The lever check
Name what you want to achieve, name what is stopping you, then test whether that obstacle is really the one that matters. What comes out is your own sentence, in your own words, with a signal you can check in four weeks.
The four steps
Everything you type stays in your browser. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent.
- What do you want to achieve in the next three months?
- What is stopping you right now?
- Suppose that were solved tomorrow morning. Would the way be clear, or would the next thing arrive immediately?
- How would you notice in four weeks that something has moved?
Why the third step carries the weight
The first obstacle people name is usually the loudest one, and it is often not the binding one. Asking whether removing it would actually clear the way separates the noise from the constraint. When the answer is no, the real lever sits one level deeper, and that is where work pays off most.
Where to go next
The check routes onward by who could work on that lever with you.
